the internet just got boring
but good news! i am feeling kind of creative and productive! I am going to "give back" to the internet that has entertained me for all these months and i will start creating content again. armed with my cell phone cam, regular cam, google sketch up, ms paint, and a a ne understanding of javascript, i plan to crank out some neat stuff!

DST In the Fall
someday if i ever become a small business owner i vow to ignore DST in the spring. I will set my clocks back, but i will change my business hours to reflect the optimum state of western chronology, and what i believe to be the natural order of the sun and the spinning of the earth; that is the DST arrangement we have in the fall.

bring them back i say

i am pretty sure bringing back woolly mammoths Jurassic park style would probably be a pretty good idea. good for yukon tourism, good for eskimos, and not really too dangerous.
scientists are working on this as we speak

Chinese food

I tried making some Chinese food last night.
I call it chinese food because i used Chinese ingredients. i am not sure if it is actually something that people in china eat.
basically i took bamboo shoots, carrots, broccoli, ginger garlic tofu and soysauce and some other stuff and mixed it all together. how did it turn out?
it wasn't gross, but i need to practice cooking with Chinese ingredients some more.
on a good note, i made some awesome soup with seaweed, black fungus and miso broth a few nights before that.

school daze
i haven't updated this in a while so oh well.
anyway the thing on my mind is the "social web." I think the failure of the social web is not in the tools created, but in the users/participants themselves. i mean, seriously, contributing quality stuff to the social web is really a lot of work!

my life so far
I am working more than I planned on and math s giving me more trouble than i bargained for. However I still have some time at night for a little fun. I recently attended a BBQ. Being a vegetarian I see BBQ's as an opportunity to drink with friends. I brought a little pre-made pizza and grilled it once all the other food was made. I also drank lots of wine and ate bread with cheese spread. it was a lot of fun!
A couple of weeks ago i saw a johnny cash cover band, the cash prophets. it was way more fun than i thought it would be. maybe ina few weeks i will have some spare time again.

oh what a nice day i had
1. ate a real coconut
2. got a nice warm sun burn
3. got feet wet in the ocean!
I started my day determined to go buy some groceries. i have unpacked the few pots and pans i brought with me and i am not quite ready to use them. I have been sampling the local cuisine and I have to say it is pretty tasty, and i am tempted to eat out forever. but it is time to spend money on other things and i need to get cookin'. I have been preparing a mental list of ingredients i will need so i can start making meals from scratch.
The first shopping trip when you move into a new city is the most difficult. stocking bare cupboards is a real challenge if you want to start eating a variety of healthy meals after your first trip to the store.
I am not going to stock my whole cupboard with complete selection of spices yet. So I am going to limit myself to purchasing either mexican or italian ingredients. either style provides a well balanced, filling meal, with plenty of variety in less than an hour so it will be a tough call. but there are a number of Mexican restaurants around here so satisfy my cravings so i will probably go with Italian.
anyway, after i went to the upscale market to buy some instant soups and munchies; i stopped at the beach. i love stopping at the beach. Hands down, stopping by the beach is a top ten perk when living in a beach community. I lounged around in the sand long enough to get a mild sunburn and walked along the shore with my pants cuffed. Alas, mother nature is a powerful force and the surf managed to reach my pant legs anyway. it wasn't a big deal, i just went to another beach and chilled out until they were dry.
Lunch time was a special treat i tried out a thai restaurant and should have gotten the curry. my bean curd and mixed vegetables was good, but i was really in the mood for something spicier. live and learn! anyhow i asked for a glass of fresh coconut juice to wash down my meal and they brought out an actual coconut! the milk was very sweet and the flesh had a nice chewy texture. i am in love with coconuts eating one really made my day.
